Prague’s ‘Tunnel Bus’ Line 145 to Stop at Kuchyňka

Students at the Pelc-Tyrolka campus will soon have a shorter journey to Dejvice. From late September, the Kuchyňka stop will be added to the timetable for bus line 145.

From 29 September 2026, Prague bus line 145 will also stop at Kuchyňka. Known as the “tunnel bus”, the route provides a fast connection between Kobylisy and Dejvice. Until now, it has passed the Pelc-Tyrolka university campus without stopping at the nearby Kuchyňka stop. With the start of the new academic year, the stop will now be added to the timetable.

According to Prague 8, the district had been pressing Prague transport organiser ROPID for the change for some time. Charles University also supported the proposal and submitted an official request for the additional stop.

“Having line 145 stop at Kuchyňka is a logical step,” said Martin Jedlička, Prague 8 councillor responsible for transport. Until now, the bus had passed a major university site where hundreds of students live and several faculties are based.

Facilities belonging to Charles University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Faculty of Humanities, as well as the Czech Technical University in Prague, are located in the immediate vicinity of the stop. The campus also includes student halls of residence with around 1,400 places.

The new stop will directly connect the Pelc-Tyrolka university site with the university campus in Dejvice. In addition to students and university staff, residents of Prague’s Holešovice district are also expected to benefit from the improved connection.
