Signal Festival Prague 2026 Comes to Dejvice for the First Time

In mid-October, the Signal Festival will once again transform Prague into a stage for light and digital art. For the first time, one of the festival routes will also lead to Dejvice, alongside numerous installations in the centre of the capital.

This year, the Signal Festival is presenting a route in Prague-Dejvice for the first time. From 15 to 18 October 2026, the 14th edition of the festival of digital and creative culture will feature a total of 21 installations in Dejvice and in the centre of the Czech capital. This year’s theme is “Dream On! Sny a vize” – Dreams and Visions. Eight of the installations are part of the paid Signal INSIDE programme section.

With Dejvice, the Signal Festival is opening up a new part of the capital for the first time. At the Archbishop’s Seminary, German artist Felix Frank will transform the façade into a large-scale light composition with his project “Missing Interval”.

Also new is the “Student Visions” section. Students from the Czech Technical University ČVUT and the University of Chemistry and Technology VŠCHT will present, among other things, a chemistry show, an audiovisual projection featuring the EFORCE racing car, and interactive light installations.

The Dejvice route is complemented by the sculpture “Black Mechanical Planet” by Czech artist Jan Kaláb, with lighting design by Jan Hladil.

Video Mapping at the Old Town Hall Commemorates Václav Havel

At the Old Town Hall, Ukrainian artist Svitlana Reinish will present the video mapping installation “Život v pravdě” – “Living in Truth”. The work is inspired by Václav Havel and his essay “The Power of the Powerless”.

Words such as truth, freedom, justice, love and democracy will appear on two sides of the Town Hall. The installation is being created to mark the Václav Havel Year. The music was composed by Ukrainian composer Anton Dehtiarov.

Maxim Velčovský Stages 140 Years of Mercedes-Benz at the Clam-Gallas Palace

Another highlight of this year’s Signal Festival is the partner installation “Letem světlem by Mercedes-Benz”, designed by Czech designer Maxim Velčovský. The light and laser show in the courtyard of the Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace in Prague city centre will take visitors through 140 years of Mercedes-Benz innovation – from the first automobile to modern technologies.

Programme for Children and Families

At Kampus Hybernská, there will be a special programme for children and families. During workshops by Greek artist Yiannis Kranidiotis, children can create animated jellyfish or programme LED strips. The interactive installation “Zvukový robot” by Ján Šicko will also be on display.
