Smartwings and Taiwanese airline STARLUX Airlines are entering into a new partnership. From the beginning of October, passengers will be able to book flights operated by both airlines on a single ticket and check their baggage through to their final destination.

The Czech airline Smartwings will expand its route network from 1 October through a partnership with STARLUX Airlines. The agreement aims to provide travellers with more convenient connections between destinations in Asia and Europe.

Passengers will be able to combine flights operated by both airlines within a single booking. In addition, checked baggage will be transferred through to the destination airport, meaning it will not have to be collected and checked in again when changing flights in Prague.

This will further strengthen Prague’s importance as a hub between Asia and Europe. Travellers from the STARLUX route network will gain connections to other European cities via the Czech capital. At the same time, passengers from Europe will benefit from additional travel options to destinations in Asia.

STARLUX Airlines has operated the direct route between Prague and Taipei since 1 August 2026. The route was also the Taiwanese premium airline’s first European service. From October, the company will increase the number of weekly flights from three to four.

STARLUX recently also attracted attention in Prague with a special aircraft. The gold-coloured Airbus A350-1000, named ‘AIRSORAYAMA’, combines the airline’s premium concept with a design by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. The strikingly designed long-haul aircraft landed in the Czech capital for the first time in early September.
